How to make your own Avatar Tutorial (By Gina Miller)
Here is a tutorial on how to make your own Avatar using Photoshop. You can either use a clip art image, or a photograph of yourself. Open the graphic that you want to be your avatar inside of Photoshop. Go to the top toolbar and select 'image' then 'mode' then 'indexed color'.
A panel should appear. In this panel in the 'amount' box under 'dither' make sure the % is at or change it to 75%. Don't leave this panel yet, your first option is the drop down 'palette:' select 'custom' from here.
Another panel shows up, with color grids all over it. On this panel of colors, select 'load'. You need to load a color palette, I've provided one for you here..(Zip File 546 bytes)
This zip file will be what you will load, here on this 'Color Table' above, once you have it extracted onto your hard drive. You can put it where ever you want. Now you will click 'okay', and then, 'okay' again, so that all windows are gone and only your image remains. You may notice a slight difference in color, but that's normal. Now, you are going to need to resize your picture, remember Avatars are very small. The most important thing to remember when you are resizing, is that your avatar will not work properly if it is any bigger that 132 X 132 pixels so it must be that scale exactly or smaller. You will be able to import it into the Palace, if you make it bigger, but it will cut off parts of it, the excess to make it fit.

After you have resized your image to a size of or under 132 by 132 pixel, go to your top tool bar in Photoshop and go to 'Select' and then 'All". Now go to 'Edit' and then 'Copy'. Now, open up the Palace and go to a Palace (but not the Practice Palace because you are not allowed to wear personal avs there).
After you have picked a palace to go to, go to the palace tool bar at the top and select 'Edit' then 'Paste multiple props'.

Now click the black suitcase in the lower right, next to the trash can. You will see your props appear in pieces in the grey pop up window.
Now click 'wear' in this grey panel, to wear them and 'save' to keep them in your 'avatar' - 'member avatars' menu on the top tool bar of the Palace window, to put them on without doing it one at a time.. If you wish to make your image have transparent parts, be aware that you can not import them this way into the Palace, you must click edit, in the gray tool bar (above) and select the erase tool to manually erase what you don't want. That's it, you can present yourself as you!
