Butterfly - This is a test project. I wanted to see if I could make an animation with only stills created in Photoshop (no animation programs). I made a PSD file with layers of each frame, as I moved the butterfly little by little with each new layer (or image). I set the opacity to 50% so that I could see where the butterfly was in the last image when I created the next (much like I did with the hand drawn movie I made - but instead of individual by hand drawings, individual images created in Photoshop). Then I selected only the background and relevant image layer to be visible and saved it as a jpg. I then hid that layer, and made the next image visible and again saved. I did this for 42 images (including the text - which I broke up into twos so that it appeared more animated). I then imported the images into Vegas and put them together in their proper order without any other edits. This short movie is the end result.

Click here to see the movie (.mov 1.68mb) or click here to watch the avi (1.78mb).

A still from the movie (last frame - frame 42)

This is a picture of all of the layers visible, which of course you will not see in the movie, but only one at a time.

This is a screen shot inside of Photoshop. On the right you can see the individual layers.
